Board of Directors
Emnet Kahsay is a senior at Richard Montgomery High Schoool. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Montgomery County Regional SGA (MCR-SGA) and was the former Communications Coordinator of MoCo EmpowHER. This year, she hopes to use her advocacy positions to expand advocacy opportunities to students in MoCo.
Isabelle Scholes- Young
Isabelle Scholes-Young is a senior at Richard Montgomery High School. She is the former Vice-Chair of MoCo EmpowHER and is excited to work with this year's team to educate and fight for women's rights for students.
Hana O'Looney is a sophomore at Richard Montgomery High School. She is ecstatic to be joining this talented team of female visionaries after designing the MoCo EmpowHER website. She hopes to use her position to help the organization grow to have branches at all MCPS middle and high schools., and is looking forward to helping girls across Montgomery County unlock their full potential.
Andrea Anaya is a senior at John F. Kennedy High School. Her first encounter with MoCo EmpowHER was at the 2018 Women’s Leadership Forum where she felt the embodiment of EMPOWER by listening to all the women leaders in the room. Andrea hopes that this organization can serve as an opportunity for young women to network with women in leadership positions of career fields that interest them.
Social Media Coordinator
Maahe Kunvar is a freshman at Northwest High School. She is excited to communicate with student leaders and allied communities through various forms of social media! She hopes to always stay connected with the student voice, and cannot wait for our organization to expand further and to see more student leaders advocating for women.
Middle School Representative
Caroline Dwyer is an eighth grader at Pyle Middle School. She is excited to join this team of leaders to provide a voice for Montgomery County's middle schoolers. She hopes to help EmpowHER expand throughout the county and introduce new students from across the county to advocacy and leadership.

Diba is the former (2018-2019) Communications Director of MoCo EmpowHER as well as a founding member of the organization. Diba’s favorite experience from her term was the planning and execution of the 2019 Maryland Women’s Leadership Forum (cohosted by MASC). She is forever grateful for the deep sense of community which was fostered between the Directors. After graduating from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, Diba is currently studying Political Science and Economics at Yale University.
Khava Tsarni is a graduate of Watkins Mill High School currently studying at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. She loved MoCo EmpowHER for giving her a community of young women to advocate for women's rights.
